Courtesy of Maxon, the much-revered Japanese pedal manufacturer with roots extending back to the mid-1960s, the SD-9 is best known for its visceral sensitivity to pick dynamics across heavy low strings through to the slinkiest highs. The SD-9 provides true bypass tone preservation, plus distortion, level, and tone controls that let you craft everything from sweet saturation to piledrivers of crushing harmonic weight. What’s more, the SD-9’s low-noise footswitch makes it a natural-sounding addition to any pedalboard. This Maxon pedal can be powered one of two ways: via a standard AC power supply or one 9V battery.
